A HOME THAT ENCOURAGES FAMILY REUNION

Pertubuhan Kebajikan Cheng En Johor Bahru is a non-profit organization, taking care of the children who lives in a single family. The orphanage has started from February 2017 by 7 kindhearted people. One of the person in charge, Ms Irene had told us that the purpose for them to start this organization is trying to help those family who has their own difficulty in taking care of the children as much as possible . 

In the present moment, there are total of 16 children in between the age of 3 to 12 years old which have been accommodated in the orphanage. They encourage the children's parent squeeze out some time to visit their children at least once a week and it is a must for them to bring their children back home during festival. This is a way to help them to reduce the family burden at the same time maintain their parent-child relationship. The person in charge also told us that they will only help to take care of the children for around 3 to 5 years as they want the parent to concentrate on their job in the first few years. After they are able to take care of the children, they should bring the children back as it is their responsibility to accompany their children during their childhood time when they are financially stable.

Now they only have 2 workers who takes care of the daily meal and other supports of the children. They are welcoming any volunteers that willing to help them to take care and have fun with those children at any time. Any kind of donations are accepted by them while they are in need of some voluntary tutor to help the children in their revision or teach them some beautiful handcraft. They will be more grateful if you can spend a short time with them.
