Helping seniors lead comfortable lives

Persatuan Kebajikan Orang Tua Ceria is an old folks home which had established over 10 years’ operation in Skudai area. It is a non-profit organization that had contributed the services for the elderly which send by the Social Welfare Department and only few of the elderly have their own family. Currently, there have living more than 80 elder people between the age of 50 to 90 years old. In the beginning, they only started with two single terrace house for the purpose of doing this care centre. As times goes on, they got the opportunities to slowly increasing the places from the next door to expanding the care centre until four single terrace house have connected internally.

As the number of people is getting higher, they recruited 8 workers to taking care of those elderly’s daily meal, care and support. Every month they have facing a huge financial expenses  as the food, beverage and others utilities expenses need a lot of money to overcome it. They accepted monetary and non-monetary donations and the most preferable item from them is the adult diapers. The person in charge told us every month they need to using up to 20 box of the adult diapers for those elderly and this also a part of their biggest expenditure in their monthly expenses. They mainly rely on donors and contributors to survived from year to year on these donations.
