Humble beginnings and unwavering mission brings benevolent home


Handicapped and Mentally Disabled Children Association Johor was founded by V.Rajamanikam in May 1990. It was started with 7 children and now are around 230 special needs children. From the humble beginnings and unwavering mission, they have become Malaysia’s largest benevolent home. 



The occupants of the home include children who have been abandoned by their families, neglected, abused and some of the children are still in contact with their parents and relatives but they need the special care that this home can provide for them. Among the children under their care are the severely visually impaired, mentally and physically challenged, paralytic, Down’s syndrome, spastic, hyperactive, cerebral palsy, autistic, mute and simply abandoned children. There are 55 workers who take care the children in this home and many of the children do not know their biological parents, but they consider their caregivers at the home as their true parents. 



The monthly expenses of this home are around RM 125,000 and they get the donation of funds and daily essentials products from the public. This home have a huge amount of expenses due to the number of children are more compare to others. The children are taught to do handcraft and the handcraft they did are beautiful. They made the handmade items become meaningful. The handcrafts are then be sell to the people who visit the home as the funds to them. Do support their effort!
